Nice to Meet You

Chaselynn smiled when she realized she had managed to find a very secluded part of the beach after searching for what seemed like hours. When she had first arrived and had seen the swarm of people she had been ready to turn around and leave. She had been hoping the beach would be almost empty with how cold the weather had been getting, but rather then turn to leave she had decided to find a place with less people. It was only pure luck that she found it, literally stumbling into it. "Hmmm..." she hummed to herself as she laid out her towel and began to remove her loose shorts and top, leaving her in a modest bikini.

With a quick look around to make sure that she was still alone to started toward the water, walking until the water was about waist deep before diving underneath. She completely submerged herself, warming up her muscles before her head broke the surface of the water. Chaselynn gasped in the cool air almost greedily and brushed her wet hair from her face, her tongue brushing over her lips unconsciously and allowing her to taste the salty bitterness of the water. She kicked her legs to keep her face above water and turned back toward the shore to begin doing a few laps. When she looked toward her stop she noticed someone had arrived. Chaselynn debated with herself on whether or not to go up to them, but she was sure that whoever it was would decide to come up to her or keep to themselves. With that thought she turned, letting her body rise as she started to float along the surface of the water. She hadn't been able to see the stranger from her place in the water, but she had seen that he was male and pretty tall from the looks of it. Other then that he was just a faceless man, but he did make her curious.

It was a great day for a swim, and an even better day to learn something new. He was scheduled to meet one of his sources at the beach, and he decided to come early just to do a few laps beforehand. A muscle shirt was underneath his hoodie, and board shorts and flip flops completed the ensemble. Looking around, he didn't see anyone there. Placing his bag on the sand and taking off his hoodie and shirt. He then looked around for anyone suspicious. There wasn't anything too important in the bag. His wallet and keys, sure, but they were in a secret compartment that was hard to find.

Standing there in only his board shorts and flip flops, he looked to the water and was surprised to find someone there, watching him. With a yawn, he decided not to let her presence bother him. He came here to learn and relax. He walked to the water and waited until it reached just below his chest before diving in. It had been a while since he swam in the ocean, and so feeling the waves against his skin was simply wonderful.

Ignoring the guy completely Chaselynn dove as deep as she could after taking a huge breath. She wasn't in a really deep part but she was running out of air so she swam up only to bump into something as she neared the surface. "Motherfucker," she muttered rubbing her head. Looking to see what had caused this Chase saw the dude that came to this section of the beach. "Sorry about that," she sighed. The past week has been absolute shit for her and she just wanted to die.

"Chaselynn by the way," she said taking a good look at his face. He seemed familiar but she didn't know where from. School maybe but she wasn't really a hundred percent sure about the theory. Floating on her back she stared at the sky slightly squinting her eyes from the sun.

Minding his own business, Varen had no reason to think that anyone would be with him as he swam around. Oh how wrong he was. He hadn't even realized his eyes had closed until his eyes snapped open when something - or rather, someone - slammed into him. He coughed and immediately went up for air, sputtering and gasping for air as his breathing had been thrown out of pattern. "Shit." He spat as his eyes refocused and narrowed at the person who had been careless enough to actually bump into him while swimming.

Her apology went to ears unwilling to listen, and his jaw tightened as he studied her. Chaselynn. He had no idea who she was, and that meant she wasn't of any importance to him. With a sigh, he grunted, "Varen. Do watch out where you're going next time." Thank god he wasn't an inexperienced swimmer. That might have been catastrophic. When she began to float about, he looked around, scanning the area for anyone else. He really didn't want to deal with more than one person at a time right now.

Varen? As in...that one kid who's mom died and put blame on everyone she knew. The fingers were being pointed to the middle class but with the sticks up some of the rich people's asses it really shouldn't have been a surprise but they weren't all that bad. Tallie was actually pretty nice. "I'll be sure to remember that," she muttered rolling her eyes. Of course she would watch out. Who liked getting their head hit. Though Chaselynn did feel bad. She knew what it was like to lose someone close to you. It was like a piece of you ripped out and this was his mom who died. Or well more like murdered. For Chase, at least her best friend is alive despite her not knowing where they were but for Varen such was not the case.

Chaselynn debated whether swimming ashore to leave him be but thought better of it. This place was public and she was pissed at her sisters. Charlotte specifically for going to another party and coming home drunk as hell. She was tired of always taking care of her sisters. With Marissa she was pretty decent but Charlotte was out of control. Shaylee wouldn't do shit and would out them in seconds and Matthew...he helped enough as was. Floating around she wondered what it would be like to just float away into the sea.

Varen yawned before diving back in. As he swam about, he found his eyes straying from watching where he was going to looking back over to that girl - Chaselynn. He wondered what was her story, which surprised him. He rarely ever gave anyone outside of his circle the time of day. Perhaps it was the heat getting to him. Maybe it was because of such the random way of their meeting. Or maybe he was just that unpredictable right now.

He watched as she floated about, giving him a perfect view of her back. He wasn't going to deny that she had a nice figure, and he smiled as an idea crept into his mind. A little payback wouldn't hurt. He swam underneath her and, without warning, he used an arm to wrap around her waist and pull her down. He made sure not to keep her submerged for too long though, and he pulled her up when he resurfaced.

"Call it payback," he said with a small cheeky smile. So maybe he was still on edge about the entire charade, but he did think it was only fair!

Chaselynn was just lost in her thoughts enjoying the feeling of the sun beating against her skin. It felt nice to just relax. No care in the world. As she floated she felt a pair of eyes staring at her but payed it no mind. It was probably her paranoia getting the better of her. In all honesty though she was curious as to why Varen would be here at the beach. Wouldn't he be mourning or something. Eh, it was her business anyways.

As she was floating, Chaselynn felt something wrap around her waist she freaked out as she went under. She remembered a time Shaylee would do that to her when she was younger. Before Shay ignored her existence. Seconds later Chase was pulled back to the surface and she gasped for air glaring as she looked behind her. She had worked hard on burying those memories and having them brought backed wasn't the best feeling in the world.

Seeing the cheeky smile she rolled her eyes. Payback. Of course. "Payback. You think I bumped into you on purpose? If you wanna play this game then fine," she said splashing him with water. Two can play this game.
